The Henley Room Wedding

The Henley Room, Stratford Upon Avon - Mike & Emma

When Mike and Emma first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was really excited – they were planning a unique and stylish micro wedding with an intimate ceremony and a lovely meal with friends and family for the reception. Mike & Emma really felt my relaxed and natural would be perfect to capture the day and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

The Excitement Before The Wedding

I arrived at The Henley Room to meet the wedding party and capture images of the guests arriving. The Henley Room is located in a beautiful 17th century Tudor building, right next to Shakespeare’s Birthplace. Everyone was so relaxed on the day and it was lovely seeing Mike with his closest friends.

The Bridal Party

As Mike went in to meet the registrar, Emma and her bridal party arrived accompanied by the father of the bride. Emma was wearing a stunning sequined wedding dress and the bridal party all had incredible, homemade craft wedding bouquets. They also all had matching embroidered denim jackets which were amazing.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was just perfect and so befitting of the event. They had some beautiful readings, including s few verses of Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’, and they both looked so happy throughout. There is something so real and personal about registry and micro weddings.

My favourite photo from the afternoon is this beautiful moment between the bride and groom. Check it out below!

After The Ceremony

After the ceremony we did a handful of simple group shots outside then I mingled amongst the guests capturing all the hugs and well wishes. It was a warm day, which was perfect for photos and while the guests disappeared to the reception, I took the bridal party for a  wander around the city to capture some lovely candid moments.

Below you will find some of my favourite images from the wedding.
