St Peters Church Wedding

St Peters Church Wedding Photography - Michael & Jessica

I met Michael & Jessica whilst exhibiting at the Jurys Inn Hinckley Island Hotel wedding fair. A lovely young couple who really liked the idea of having a documentary wedding photographer for their wedding.

The morning of the wedding I arrived at Jessica’s family home in Arnesby to photograph the bridal prep. It was a gorgeous, sunny August morning and I could see the florists dressing the entrance to the church which was literally just down the road from the house.

The hair and makeup was well underway when I entered the home and there was lots of laughter between the bride and her bridesmaids. Gifts were exchanged, hugs were plenty and the dogs were doing their best to keep everyone entertained. Once everyone was ready there was just enough time for a quick family selfie before the short walk to the church.

St Peter’s is a beautiful 13th century church in the heart or Arnesby and was a stunning backdrop to the wedding. Michael was a little nervous just before the ceremony began but once her saw Jessica and had a reassuring hug from her everything was good again. It was a beautiful service with several heart-felt readings from family and friends.

After the ceremony everyone set off to Scraptoft Hill Farm, a woodland and meadow wedding venue nestled away at the end of a private farm track just outside of Scraptoft, Leicestershire. By this point of the day the weather was glorious and perfect for this countryside setting. Thankfully for the guests there was plenty of refreshments to hand and the queue for the ice cream vendor was getting longer by the minute.

The huge marquee gave some respite from the heat and everyone settled down for the meal and speeches. After the speeches the temperature had cooled and the evening’s fun was ready to begin. There was dancing inside and outside the marquee to the fantastic wedding band and as the warm summer evening turned to night the party was just getting started.

Below you will find some of my favourite images from the wedding.
